Terra Moon Cosmetics is a leading online makeup and beauty retailer with brands such as Cosmetics Plus, Beautylish, A.D.C.R., The Big Issue and many others.
Terra Moon has been around since 2006 and currently has more than $40 billion in revenue from its online stores, including cosmetics, nail products, skincare, and beauty accessories.
In 2013, TerraMoon was valued at more than twice the amount of the overall U.S. economy, making it one of the biggest online retailers in the world.
However, with the company’s valuation having plummeted, Terrafinium, the company that owns Terra and the majority of its online business, sold the company to a private equity firm in 2016 for an undisclosed amount.
TerraMoon has since launched a new website to compete with online competitors.
While the company continues to focus on expanding its offerings, the stock has seen some of the worst recent volatility, with a loss of more than 70 percent in 2017.
The company has also struggled to regain a foothold in the beauty space, with its Beautylish brand recently losing more than 80 percent of its revenue in 2016.
It has also recently had to lay off dozens of employees and has had to raise funds to support its growing business.
On the bright side, the market has rallied recently, with shares increasing in the past few weeks as the company has added some new brands and has rebranded some of its existing products.
At the same time, Terracontrol, the cosmetics brand founded by Terra’s CEO, said it was going to close the Terraconteras stores in August 2018.
This is the second major company to close a Terracourtrol store in the last six months.
Last November, Target said it would close its Terracons retail stores in 2019.
Other major retailers that have closed Terraconterol stores include the Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Target, and Best Buy.
